Aboriginal Art Inspired Story Cubes Writing Prompts

Story cubes can be used during literacy group work as writing prompts, as a prompt for a class writing task or even for a Dreamtime Story prompt. This printout includes a writing template that can be used to complete the writing task or just a slip for students to write down what they have rolled to refer to when they are writing.

1. Print out the story cubes. There is a coloured or a black and white version. Students can colour in the black and white version.
2. Cut out cubes, fold tabs and glue together.
3. Students roll the three story cubes and they write down what they rolled on the printable sheet provided. They then use the prompts to write their own story including the character, setting and item that they rolled.
